Similar to the International Cricket Council, the governing body for cricket in India is Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Its first board was in December 1928 as a society and was registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. The governing body is an autonomous body and does not review any grants or funding from the Sports ministry of India. BCCI is a consortium of state cricket associations, which select their representatives. These representatives choose the BCCI Chief. The headquarters of BCCI is located at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The BCCI board organise matches and do scheduling for both the teams. BCCI established its own production unit in 2012. Prior to that, the company who holds the media right use to do the production work in exchange for money from the BCCI. But now, BCCI's broadcast service does the production work of Indian cricket team's international matches at home as well as of leading domestic championships and IPL.
