On Saturday, Tej Partap Yadav announced that he will contest from Mahua seat. He said, "Team Tej Pratap Yadav is a platform to reach the people. This time, Uncle (Nitish Kumar) will not become the Chief Minister. Whoever's government is formed, if they talk about youth, employment, education, and health, Tej Pratap Yadav will stand with them with full strength. We will contest the election from Mahua; there are many opponents, they have started to feel the itch.”
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in May expelled Tej Pratap from the party for six years for “irresponsible behaviour”, and has also disowned him from the family. Lalu Prasad made the announcement in a post on X.
“The activities, public conduct and irresponsible behaviour of the eldest son are not in accordance with our family values and traditions... I remove him from the party and the family. From now on, he will not have any role of any kind in the party and the family. He is expelled from the party for six years,” Prasad said.
The move came a day after Tej Pratap Yadav said in a Facebook post that he was "in a relationship" with a young woman, but later claimed that his account on the social media platform had been "hacked".
