Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has set a 15-day deadline for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to fill all the potholes in the city, after getting multiple complaints from residents about the huge 'craters' that have dotted the city roads.
"I have given direction to officials, 2795 potholes are been recognised and I have instructed them (officials) to refill all of them. Mainly on major roads, less attention was given, Rs 660 crores will be spent for this." Shivakumar told media on Sunday.

“There is a dedicated mobile app for reporting about potholes, and I request people to use it. Within 15 days, I will tour the city and personally monitor the pothole situation on the ground,” Shivakumar added.
Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road Companies Association had written to the government a few days ago, “The Outer Ring Road requires urgent attention! We urge all relevant authorities to prioritise infrastructure maintenance and upgradation works, including road repairs, pothole filling, waterlogging solutions, footpath and service road upkeep, flyover micro-surfacing, and stormwater drain clearance.”
