Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday predicted a certain defeat for the ruling alliance of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal in the state and said that Bharatiya Janata Party has entered the electoral fray with the guarantee of security, stability and prosperity of Jharkhand.

Addressing a rally in Jharkhand's Garhwa, PM Modi labelled JMM, Congress and RJD as "supporters of infiltrators" and accused them of taking their policy of appeasement to its extreme.

"JMM-Congress-RJD have taken the policy of appeasement to its extreme. These three parties are hell-bent on breaking the social fabric, all three parties are supporters of infiltrators. To get the votes of Bangladeshi infiltrators, they are settling these infiltrators all over Jharkhand," he said.

Noting that the ruling government of the state is entrenched in corruption, the PM said their top functionaries are facing serious allegations of misconduct. "Jharkhand has seen in the last 5 years how the JMM-Congress-RJD government has committed corruption. Be it the Chief Minister, Minister, MLA, MP... there is no one left who is not facing serious allegations of corruption," he added.

The Prime Minister further said that the promises made by the JMM-Congress combine ahead of the polls in Jharkhand were meaningless as their defeat in the coming elections was certain.

“The government led by the JMM and Congress have only betrayed the people of Jharkhand. Do not fall for their empty promises this time. It is certain that they will be ousted from power this time and a BJP-led NDA government will be formed in the state and take Jharkhand to newer heights,” he said.

The PM said that the Assembly elections in Jharkhand are being held at a time when the whole country is moving ahead with the resolution of ‘Viksit Bharat’. “The coming 25 years are very important for the country and Jharkhand. The country will complete 100 years of independence and Jharkhand will also be turning 50 years old then,” the PM noted.

Congratulating the state unit of the BJP for their promises to the people in the party manifesto, the PM underlined that women will be given Rs 2,100 every month under the 'Gogo Didi Yojana'.

“Under the Ujjwala scheme, gas connections were first given to mothers and sisters of poor families. Now, the BJP government that is going to be formed in Jharkhand will provide gas cylinders for Rs 500 and will also provide two free cylinders on Diwali and Raksha Bandhan next year,” Modi added.

PM Modi further said that there was no dearth of talent among the youth of Jharkhand and that it was the responsibility of the government to provide them with new opportunities. The JMM, Congress and RJD, he said, had “betrayed” the youth of Jharkhand.

“They (JMM-Congress) had promised to give unemployment allowance to the youth of Jharkhand, but did not fulfill the promise. Rigging in recruitments, paper leaks have become an industry here. Many youths died tragically due to the negligence of the JMM government during constable recruitment. Now Jharkhand BJP has decided to change this situation. After the formation of BJP government in the state, about 3 lakh government posts will be filled in a transparent manner,” the PM added.

The PM’s rally in Garhwa, his first in the poll-bound state since elections were announced, came days after Union minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming polls, promising to return the tribals’ land occupied by the infiltrators to the tribals and implementing a Uniform Civil Code, excluding tribals, if elected to power in the state.

The party has also assured students of action against those responsible for paper leaks which has gripped the state in the recent past and vowed to ensure 5 lakh opportunities for self-employment for youths in 5 years.

Among other promises, the party has said it will ensure recruitment for 2,87,500 government positions with transparency. “For this, the process will begin in the first cabinet meeting and will complete the recruitment process on 1.5 lakh positions by November 2025," the manifesto said.

Elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20 while the results will be declared on November 23.
