Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has admitted that General Asim Munir called him at 2:30 am during early hours of may 10 to inform him about India's precision strikes on Nur Khan Air Base and multiple other locations.
Sharif's comments came just days after cross-border hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbours escalated into one of the deadliest confrontations in recent years, lasting nearly 100 hours following Operation Sindoor.
India had launched the targeted military operation in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including civilians and security personnel. New Delhi's sharp retaliation to the ghastly terror attack triggered a wave of military and diplomatic activity aimed at isolating Pakistan on the global stage.
Islamabad retaliated with attempted strikes on Indian military installations between May 8 and 10, prompting further counterstrikes by Indian forces on Pakistani military positions. The hostilities, which lasted four days, eventually led to a ceasefire agreement on May 10.

Despite the pause in hostilities, New Delhi has made it clear that talks with Islamabad will only be considered in the context of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the issue of cross-border terrorism.
In contrast, Shehbaz Sharif hinted at a possible thaw, stating, “If peace comes, we can also cooperate in counterterrorism.”
India has also stepped up its diplomatic offensive in parallel, deploying multi-party delegations to major global regions including the US, EU, Japan, Africa, and the UAE, in a bid to expose Pakistan's role in fostering terrorism and build international consensus against it.
