Two terrorists who opened fire at a village in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir had gone door-to-door demanding water moments before the attack but the vigilant locals locked the doors in their faces, the police said while revealing details of the terror attack.
Five soldiers and a special police officer were injured when terrorists struck an army post in Jammu’s Doda region on early June 12, the third such strike in as many days, reports said.
According to Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, who is in charge of the anti-terrorist operations in Kathua, the terrorists were initially spotted late last night in the Saida Sukhal hamlet of Hira Nagar.
"They asked for water from a few houses to which villagers grew suspicious and slammed the doors on them and a few raised hue and cry. The terrorists panicked and fired randomly in the air and also at one odd villager who was passing by," he said.
A suspected Pakistani terrorist was killed by security forces after ultras attacked a village near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, last Tuesday evening, injuring a civilian, police confirmed. A terrorist was also killed in the exchange of fire, an India Today report said. The injured were brought to SDH Bhaderwah for medical attention, the report said.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said terrorists opened fire on a house in the Saida Sukhal hamlet of Kathua. The area is in the Hiranagar sector, near the International Border (IB).
“This Hiranagar terror attack appears to be a fresh infiltration. The one terrorist has been killed; the search for the other is also underway,” Jain said. Reports also said that a gunfight was on between terrorists and security forces.
On June 9, militants opened fire on a bus that was transporting pilgrims from a shrine in the Reasi area of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving ten people dead and thirty-three injured.
