Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, celebrates Lord Rama's victory over Ravana, signifying the triumph of good over evil. The festival also marks the conclusion of Durga Puja and the nine-day Navratri celebrations, bringing communities together in joyous observance.

A stunning 211-foot tall effigy of Ravana has been installed in Dwarka Sector 10, Delhi, making it the tallest Ravana effigy in India. Crafted over nearly four months by a dedicated team of more than 40 artisans, this eco-friendly structure was completed at a cost of approximately Rs 30 lakhs.

Rajesh Gehlot, an organizer with the Dwarka Shree Ram Leela Society, speaking to news agency ANI, shared insights into the ambitious project, stating, "It took almost 4 months to make this Ravana effigy. The expenditure was around Rs 30 lakhs. You will get to see the tallest and most beautiful Ravana effigy in Dwarka."

This impressive effigy surpasses the 92-foot-high replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir and features a robust design made from iron, adorned with a velvet outfit, and crowned with fibreglass. Gehlot further explained the engineering behind the structure, noting that it is anchored by a foundation that extends 10 feet into the ground.

Beyond its impressive height and craftsmanship, the effigy carries a poignant message. "As we can see, sin is increasing in society, so this effigy symbolizes the growing sins, and we will burn them all on Dussehra, that is, on October 12, 2024," Gehlot added.

In a show of unity and hope, invitations have been extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders for the ceremonial burning of the effigy, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

The towering effigy in Dwarka stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and artistic expression that characterizes this vibrant festival, serving both as a stunning visual spectacle and a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle against moral decay in society.
