The Andheri West seat is among the 288 Maharashtra Assembly constituencies going to polls on November 20. The constituency is set to witness a fresh round of battle between two longtime rivals -- Ameet Satam and Ashok Jadhav. Satam, the Bharatiya Janata party candidate from the seat, has represented the constituency twice -- in 2014 and then again in 2019. He will be looking to extend his victory to three consecutive terms.
At the other end is Ashok Jadhav of the Congress who lost to Satam in the 2019 elections but hopes to turn the tide this time. The battle this time has become more interesting following Shiv Sena candidate Ravindra Waikar's wafer-thin victory (48 votes) against his Shiv Sena (UBT) rival Amol Kirtikar from the Mumbai North West parliamentary constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
