Political leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh received a high-end gift that has quickly become a subject of discussion across Gonda: a thoroughbred racehorse valued at approximately ₹1.25 crore.
The two-year-old horse was transported from Punjab in a specially arranged mini truck and arrived at Singh’s ancestral village of Bishnoharpur to considerable local attention.
Residents gathered in large numbers as the prized animal was unloaded and welcomed into Singh’s estate. The former MP personally received the horse, visibly pleased as he examined it.
When told about its estimated price, Singh laughed and remarked, “Yaar, hum to paagal ho jaayenge (we’ll go mad),” a reaction that soon circulated widely on social media.
According to Singh, the horse boasts an impressive racing record. It has already competed in international events and reportedly won ₹17 lakh in a single race.
Unusually for an animal based in India, it also carries its own passport, enabling it to travel abroad for global competitions, a marker of its elite lineage.
The horse was not purchased by Singh but presented to him as a birthday gift. It was sent by Tejveer Brar, Gurpreet Singh and Deepak, all associated with horse racing academies in Punjab.
The gift was arranged by friends of Singh’s son, BJP MP Karan Bhushan Singh, as a gesture of goodwill.
With the new addition, Singh’s stable now houses four high-value horses. The existing collection includes three Marwari horses, among them ‘Badal’, estimated to be worth around ₹10 lakh, and ‘Bullet’, valued at close to ₹8 lakh.
News18 reported that Singh has instructed his staff to ensure that his newest horse is give utmost care and a regulated diet, training schedule and constant supervision by experienced handlers.
Horse breeding and riding form an important part of Singh’s daily routine. His sprawling stable, located opposite his residence and spread across nearly five bighas, is enclosed by a white boundary wall and equipped to house multiple animals.
When in Gonda, Singh reportedly begins his day with a workout at his in-house gym before spending time at the stable, feeding the horses and taking short riding rounds.
The estate itself mirrors Singh’s larger-than-life persona. Spread across roughly 15 acres, the property includes a main bungalow, guest accommodations, family cottages, landscaped gardens, a public court area and a private helipad. Security at the residence is tight, with multiple entry gates and guards stationed throughout.
