Home Minister Amit Shah, on June 16, directed security agencies to implement area domination and zero-terror plans in the Jammu division, similar to the strategies employed in Kashmir, to achieve success.

In addition, Shah, while chairing a high-level meeting to review the security and logistics arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, emphasised the Centre's commitment to ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience for the devotees.

Later, he took to microblogging site X, updating on the meeting held.

"Today, in a security review meeting on the Amarnath Yatra, had a thorough discussion with the agencies about the security of the pilgrims. Our government is determined to provide all-round security and all other necessary facilities to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath. A safe and seamless Shri Amarnath Yatra for everyone is paramount to us".

The Minister instructed security agencies to replicate the successes achieved in the Kashmir valley through the area domination plan and zero-terror plan in the Jammu division. He emphasised that all security agencies should work in a mission mode and ensure a quick, coordinated response.

The Home Minister also mentioned that the fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is in its decisive phase. He added that recent incidents show that terrorism has been forced to shrink from highly organized acts of violence to a mere proxy war. He stressed the government's determination to eradicate it completely.

Shah highlighted the importance of seamless coordination among security agencies, identifying vulnerable areas, and addressing security concerns. Reiterating the zero-tolerance policy against terrorism under PM Modi's leadership, the Home Minister said that the government would leave no stone unturned in rooting out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.

He noted that the efforts of the Government of India have yielded significant positive results in the Kashmir Valley, with a substantial reduction in terror-related incidents. The improvement in the law-and-order situation is reflected in the record flow of tourists to the Kashmir Valley. Shah appreciated the security agencies and the J&K administration for the successful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections, which witnessed a record voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, Senior Army Officers including Chief of Army Staff (Designate) Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, Director General of CAPFs, Chief Secretary, DGP of J&K, and other senior officers.

Shah also emphasised the Government's commitment to ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience for Amarnath Ji Yatra devotees. He highlighted the importance of adopting eco-friendly measures in the management of the pilgrimage, stated the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Shah reiterated that the Centre's priority, under the leadership of PM Modi, is to enable devotees to have Holy Darshan with ease and without any difficulties. He instructed security agencies to be vigilant and ensure the deployment of sufficient security personnel for the annual pilgrimage.

The Home Minister also stressed the need for perfect inter-agency coordination to ensure effective security arrangements, including a well-established standard operating response mechanism, according to the MHA.
