The Uttar Pradesh government, in a major push towards industrial development, through the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), is establishing the state’s first dedicated Footwear Park in Kanpur's Ramaipur.
The footwear park, spanning over an area of 131.69 acres, aims to boost the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector by offering integrated facilities under a 'plug and play' model. This initiative is expected to enhance the ease of doing business while providing essential infrastructure to smaller manufacturing units.
In the first phase, the park will feature 75 industrial plots, and the sale of 26 plots has already commenced at a rate of Rs 4,600 per square meter. The project is seen as a major step toward attracting investment in the leather and footwear industry while generating employment and strengthening the local economy.

Officials believe the park will serve as a catalyst for industrial growth in the region, particularly benefiting MSMEs by offering ready-to-use spaces that reduce setup time and costs.
The Footwear Park forms part of a broader vision to make Uttar Pradesh a hub for manufacturing and enterprise, aligning with the state’s larger industrial policy objectives.
