FIIs net buy Rs 2085 cr in Index Options on Mon

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 2,085 crore in Index Options, which OI was up by 163594 contracts. Stock Futures shed 1.25 crore shares in OI.

FIIs were net sellers of Rs 525 crore in Index Futures, which open interest (OI) was down by 15537 contracts. However, they were net buyers of Rs 462 crore in Stock Futures, which OI was up by 19570 contracts.


FIIs were net buyers of Rs 2,085 crore in Index Options, which OI was up by 163594 contracts. Stock Futures shed 1.25 crore shares in OI.


Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 0.97 from 1.03. Nifty 5800 Call added 32.2 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5600 Put added 17.2 lakh shares in OI.


HDFC Bank tanked 5% but there was no change in OI. Delivery based selling was worth Rs 300 crore on Monday. Stock outperformed banking peers in last 2 months.


Hindalco lost 4.4%; its OI was down 3% and delivery based selling was worth Rs 170 crore. The stock outperformed metal peers in 2010.


L&T fell 3.6%; its OI was up 16% and delivery based selling was worth Rs 200 crore in stock.


Unwinding and cash based selling were seen in TVS Motors. The stock tumbled 3.3%; its OI was down 12% and delivery volume increased at 23.2 lakh shares versus 14.4 lakh.

Speculative selling was seen in Praj Industries. The stock was down 7.8% and its OI was down 8%.
