FIIs were net buyers of Rs 572 crore in Index Futures, which OI was down by 10504 contracts on Thursday.
FIIs have net bought Rs 463 crore in Index Options, which OI was up by 11836 contracts.
FIIs were net buyers of Rs 342 crore in Stock Futures, which OI was up by 2130 contracts.
Stock Futures have net added 1.8 crore shares in OI (open interest). Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.28 versus 1.22.
Nifty 5500 Put added 21.2 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5600 Call added 5.15 lakh shares in OI.
Short covering & marginal buying were seen in HDFC Bank, IDFC and Sobha Developers. HDFC Bank rallied 3.8%; its OI was down by 10% and delivery volume increased at 6.7 lakh shares versus 2.15 lakh.
IDFC jumped 4.6%; its OI was down by 9% and delivery volume went up at 69.2 lakh shares versus 60 lakh. Sobha Developers shot up 10.5%; its OI was up by 46% and delivery volume surged at 2.7 lakh shares as against 55,000 shares.
Suzlon Energy and LIC Housing Finance witnessed short covering & cash based buying yesterday. Suzlon rose 4.3%; its OI was down by 12% and delivery volume increased at 47 lakh shares (23%) versus 16.5 lakh (13%).
LIC Housing went up 3.8%; its OI was down by 13% and delivery volume jumped at 36.6 lakh shares versus 11.8 lakh.
Long buildup & cash based buying were seen in India Cements. The stock rose 1.5%; its OI was up by 17% and delivery volume shot up at 16.2 lakh shares versus 1.5 lakh.
