Urban Company’s InstaHelp crosses 50,000 daily bookings within a year of launch

Urban Company’s rapid-response services vertical InstaHelp has crossed 50,000 daily bookings less than a year after launch, signalling early scale-up of the company’s push into high-frequency, on-demand home services.

In a disclosure dated February 23, the company said InstaHelp recorded over 50,000 daily bookings on February 22, approximately 51,520 jobs, marking a milestone in its expansion into what it describes as a high-frequency housekeeping category.

Launched as a pilot in Mumbai in March 2025, InstaHelp has since scaled to select micro-markets across five metros, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Pune. The service offers fulfilment within 10–15 minutes for tasks such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, and meal preparation.

Faster scale than core business

The company said the milestone represents peak demand so far, adding that long-term growth will be shaped by sustained customer retention, service quality and scaling the availability of professionals across neighbourhood clusters.

“Crossing 50,000+ daily bookings reflects strong consumer demand for reliable, on-demand housekeeping services. We are investing to build a large, high-frequency category that deepens platform engagement and strengthens long-term growth with results starting to become visible with respect to improving unit economics and growing repeat usage,” said Abhiraj Singh Bhal, CEO and co-founder, Urban Company Limited.

Urban Company noted that its core India Consumer Services business reached a similar scale of 50,000 daily bookings roughly six years after operations began, highlighting the faster adoption curve of the new format, though it said the two businesses are not directly comparable.

Investments continue to weigh on near-term financials

The rapid ramp-up comes even as the company continues to invest heavily in building out the new vertical. InstaHelp reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of Rs 61 crore in Q3 FY26, compared with a loss of Rs 44 crore in the September quarter and Rs 10 crore in its launch quarter, Q1 FY26.

Revenue from operations increased to Rs 6.8 crore during the quarter, while net transaction value (NTV) rose to Rs 28 crore, up from Rs 10 crore in Q2 FY26 and Rs 1 crore at launch, reflecting growing usage even as the business remains in an investment phase.

Competitive intensity rises in instant services

The push comes amid rising competition in the instant home-services market, with startups such as Snabbit, Pronto and Pync also expanding 15-minute offerings for cleaning, repairs and other domestic services in major urban centres.

Urban Company has historically relied on relatively infrequent, higher-ticket services such as appliance repair, beauty and deep cleaning. InstaHelp is aimed at capturing more routine, repeat-use cases, with dense, hyperlocal supply clusters designed to enable quick fulfilment timelines.

The model requires simultaneously building a large pool of trained service professionals while matching demand within tightly defined catchment areas, resulting in significant upfront spending on onboarding, training and ensuring availability as the company scales the category.

The 50,000-bookings milestone underscores early demand for the format, even as Urban Company continues to focus on deepening repeat usage and improving unit economics as the business matures.
