SBI Mutual Fund and BlackRock have acquired little more than 6.5 percent equity stake in Belrise Industries, the automotive components manufacturer, for nearly Rs 897 crore via open market transactions on December 23.
Belrise Industries shares rallied 6.2 percent to close at Rs 168.23 after losing 6.5 percent from its intraday record high of Rs 179.9 on Tuesday. It almost doubled (at record high) from its issue price of Rs 90 since listing day May 28 this year.
SBI Mutual Fund has bought 5.12 crore equity shares (equivalent to 5.8 percent of paid-up equity) in Belrise for Rs 788.3 crore, and BlackRock Global Investment Series Global Equity Income Portfolio picked up additional 70.5 lakh shares (0.79 percent stake) for Rs 108.37 crore at Rs 153.7 per share.
However, promoter entity Sumedh Tools was the seller in this deal, offloading its entire 5.83 crore shares (6.5 percent stake) for Rs 896.7 crore at same price. Total promoters' shareholding in the company as of September 2025 was 73.01 percent.
The major action was also seen in Restaurant Brand Asia, the national franchisee of the Burger King brand in India and Indonesia, rising 2.3 percent to Rs 66.23 despite 2.4 percent stake sale by Amansa Investments.
Amansa Investments sold 76 lakh shares in Restaurant Brand Asia at Rs 64.29 per share, and 66.3 lakh shares at Rs 64.1 per share, amounting to Rs 91.37 crore.
As of September 2025, Amansa Investments held 4.85 percent stake, and Amansa Holdings 2.45 percent shares in Restaurant Brand Asia.
Meanwhile, Capital Infra Trust, the infrastructure investment trust, has also seen exchange of units on Tuesday, rising 0.41 percent to Rs 74.19.
Pico Capital has acquired 34.6 lakh units (equivalent to 1.25 percent of outstanding units) in Capital Infra Trust for Rs 25.27 crore at Rs 73.05, from Neo Treasury Plus Fund.
TV Today Network also saw brisk action, which has been consolidating in current month, rising 0.1 percent to Rs 134.5. Promoter entity Living Media India has bought 4.5 lakh shares (0.75 percent stake) for Rs 6.04 crore at Rs 134.4 per share, however, HDFC Mutual Fund sold 4.76 lakh shares (0.79 percent stake) for Rs 6.4 crore at Rs 134.41 per share.
Bonanza Portfolio acquired 1.92 lakh shares in JD Cables at Rs 185.12 per share for Rs 3.55 crore.
