Smallcap World Fund buys additional 2% stake in Shaily Engineering Plastics for Rs 177 crore

Smallcap World Fund Inc, a mutual fund owned by US-based Capital Group, has acquired additional more than 2 percent equity stake in Shaily Engineering Plastics, the injection moulded precision plastic components maker, via open market transactions on March 12.

Shaily Engineering Plastics shares ended 0.15 percent higher at Rs 1,911.4 amid high volumes on the National Stock Exchange.

Smallcap World Fund Inc has acquired 2.98 lakh shares in Shaily at Rs 1,878.41 per share, and 6.43 lakh shares at Rs 1,879 per share, totalling to 2.04 percent stake worth Rs 176.88 crore.

The mutual fund already held 5.09 percent equity stake in ace investor Ashish Kacholia-backed Shaily Engineering as of December 2025.

Meanwhile, there was block deal in Kaynes Technology India, the IoT solutions-enabled integrated electronics manufacturer, which shares finished the session at Rs 3,700.3, down 0.69 percent.

BofA Securities Europe SA has bought 1.16 lakh shares (equivalent to 0.17 percent of paid-up equity) in Kaynes at Rs 3,614.4 per share, valued at Rs 41.95 crore. However, Kadensa Master Fund, and Bluepearl Map I LP were the sellers in this block deal, offloading 46,934 shares for Rs 16.96 crore, and 69,148 shares for Rs 24.99 crore, respectively, at same price.

The brisk action was also seen in Skipper, the transmission and distribution structure manufacturer, which rallied 3.19 percent to Rs 351.35 on the NSE. Pragya Mercantile has bought 8 lakh shares (0.7 percent stake) in the company at Rs 340.96 per share for Rs 27.27 crore, however, Santosh Industries sold 10 lakh shares (0.88 percent stake) at Rs 345.55 per share, amounting to Rs 34.55 crore.

Neo Real Asset Yield Fund has acquired 15.43 units in IndiaGrid Infrastructure Trust from Sankhya Financial Services at Rs 162.68 per unit for Rs 25.11 crore.

SEPC shares hit the lowest closing level since December 2021 as it has been in a downward journey since September 2024 with making lower high-lower structure. On Thursday, it plunged 4.45 percent to Rs 6.23, may be after promoter Mark AB Welfare Trust sold 85 lakh shares (0.43 percent stake) at Rs 6.24 per share, valued at Rs 5.3 crore.

Filatex Fashions has also been under pressure, witnessing southward journey since September 2024 and ending at all-time closing low of Rs 0.18, down 5.26 percent). Promoter Prabhat Sethia has offloaded 4.58 crore shares (0.55 percent stake) in the company at Rs 0.19 per share for Rs 87.2 lakh.
