Majority of Indians believe that Narendra Modi is better suited to lead India as he is more hard working, cares about the masses, has strong leadership qualities and has a vision for India compared to his Congress rival Rahul Gandhi.
The survey, India's biggest opinion poll, covers a sample size of over 1.18 lakh eligible voters across 21 states and different demographic backgrounds.
While 69 per cent of the respondents have put their bet on PM Modi to lead India due to this intrinsic qualities, Rahul Gandhi is got the support of 31 per cent.
71 per cent of the respondents believe that PM Modi cares about the masses, while 29 per cent believe that Rahul Gandhi cares about the common people.
While 68 per cent of the respondents feel that PM Modi has a vision for India, 67 per cent are of the opinion that Modi is a strong leader.
In 2019, riding on a massive saffron surge with BJP sweeping through most parts of India, PM Modi returned to power in the Lok Sabha elections. The party is aiming for a similar feat in the upcoming elections with Modi seeking a third term.
It is the aura of his personality carved out of sheer grit and determination that shines when he says, “Once we have decided to do something, then we can go miles ahead in achieving that objective,” imbibing a sense of confidence among the people.
He is a leader who dares to dream and deliver, who inspires and challenges, who reforms and performs. There are critics who have often questioned his style of decision making but, the bold decision making continues.
The field work was carried out in the period during 12 February till 01 March 2024. In each of the Lok Sabha constituency, 210 interviews were conducted. The interviews were conducted with the eligible voters (among general public).
