The wait is over! Apple has started sending official invites for its annual iPhone launch event, which is scheduled to take place on September 7, 2022, CNBC reported on August 24.
The invitation, which has the tagline 'Far out,' is for an in-person launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater.
The Cupertino-based company is likely to unveil four new iPhone models - iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Besides this, Apple may also launch an array of products like new Watches and new AirPods, according to several reports.
As anticipated, the upcoming launch event will be live-streamed on Apple’s website. Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the iPhone maker had held virtual launch events , but now, it will be inviting people to watch the the announcements of new Apple device at its campus in Cupertino, California.
As reports suggest, the standard iPhone 14 will look similar to the iPhone 13, though the company will eliminate the 5.4-inch “mini” version and add a model with a 6.7-inch screen. This will mark the first time Apple launches a non-Pro iPhone with a display of that size.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is updating its flagship product at a precarious time for the industry. Smartphone sales have begun to flag as consumers cope with inflation and a shaky economy. But Apple appears to be faring better than its peers: The iPhone sold well last quarter, and the company has signaled to suppliers that it doesn’t foresee a drop-off in demand.
Apple had in June held its annual developer conference, WWDC, to announce its next set of software updates -- iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9 and macOS Ventura, in which it had invited developers and media to its campus.
