All you need to know about the Kawasaki Eliminator

Kawasaki revives Eliminator after a decade with a powerful relaunch.

Kawasaki recently launched its latest offering in the Indian motorcycle market: the 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator. Priced at Rs 5,62,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this cruiser-style motorcycle is set to go head-to-head with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Benelli 502C. As the bookings for the Eliminator have already commenced, the anticipation among enthusiasts is palpable, with deliveries expected to start from mid-January 2024.

The Eliminator's design exudes the essence of a classic cruiser with more than just a few bits of modernity thrown in. It features a raked-out front end, a round LED headlight, and a wide fuel tank that adds to its retro charm. The motorcycle is offered in a single Metallic Flat Spark Black paint scheme rounding off the dark cruiser build. LED lighting, including the headlamp and tail lamp, add a modern touch to the cruiser, while a Bluetooth-enabled circular digital instrument cluster provides essential readouts and connectivity features.

At the heart of the Eliminator beats a powerful 451cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled heart, a derivation from the Ninja 400. Boasting 45.4 hp at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm, this powerplant is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Built on a new lightweight trellis frame specifically designed for the cruiser, the Eliminator ensures a comfortable and stable ride. The suspension setup comprises telescopic front forks (41mm) and twin rear shocks. Of course, a cruiser also means a low seat height of 735mm, catering to a diverse range of riders, including those of shorter stature.

The bike rides on an 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel combo with stopping power being provided by a single 310mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, complete with dual-channel ABS.

Priced at Rs 5,62,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Eliminator faces direct competition from the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Benelli 502C in the Indian cruiser segment. While the pricing positions it as a premium option, the Eliminator aims to justify its cost with a unique blend of classic styling, modern features, and performance derived from the successful Ninja 400 platform.
