In a dazzling prelude to their upcoming nuptials in July, Radhika Merchant and her fiancé Anant Ambani recently played host aboard a luxurious cruise liner, treating over 800 guests to a weekend of opulence and extravagance. The festivities, held amidst the azure waters, featured a series of themed parties and performances by renowned international artists.

For one of the standout events, a Toga-themed soirée, Radhika Merchant made a remarkable statement with a custom gold-sculpted couture ensemble by fashion designer Grace Ling Couture.

Merchant picked a unique look for the evening and netizens just can’t get enough of her love for all-things-bling. The gold and white gown is currently making waves with its innovative use of aerospace aluminum technology, creating the illusion of fabric draping fluidly around Merchant's silhouette. Keeping her style minimal, she paired the outfit with designer gold earrings and kept the make-up and hair natural to highlight the exquisite craftsmanship.

Despite its ethereal appearance, the dress boasted an unmistakably "armoured" aesthetic, a testament to the seamless blend of artistry and cutting-edge technology. The official handle of the design house elaborated on the intricacies of the creation, describing how the gown was 3D-carved and sculpted to embody the regal essence of a “Royal Princess draped in fabric-effect.”

Behind this sartorial marvel lay the meticulous efforts of 30 artisans, whose craftsmanship brought the designer’s vision to life. The images shared by the renowned design house on their Instagram page were re-posted by Bollywood stylist Rhea Kapoor, who styled Merchant for the special occasion. Sharing some exclusive images from the shoot, Rhea informed on her page, “Sculpted in Gold in @gracelingofficial the stunning Radhika, each piece was painstakingly created to fit and hug each curve. Such a lovely experience working with the best people.”

In an elaborate post by the brand, the style team mentioned the process of making the custom couture for the bride-to be. Thanking the team, the designer wrote, “Introducing Grace Ling Couture - For the Ambani Royal Wedding. This look is made for the bride-to-be, Radhika Merchant’s, Toga-themed wedding party. The vision was a Royal Princess “draped” in fabric-effect, 3D-carved and sculpted out of Aerospace aluminum technology. Seemingly fluid and delicate, yet armoured. The new era of using technology in couture. Took 30 artisans to complete this to perfection. So honoured to be trusted with this dress for your special moment Radhika!
