Like any proud mother, Dr Madhu Chopra beams with admiration for her daughter, Priyanka Chopra—not just for her achievements but also for the way she takes care of her skin. The cosmetologist recently shared insights into Priyanka's skincare routine and the simple yet effective habits that keep her glowing.
"Priyanka has great skin. She hydrates herself a lot. This I know," Dr Madhu Chopra revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla. "She keeps her skin clear, doesn't leave makeup on for long, and lets her skin breathe. If makeup isn't required, she avoids it," she adds.

Dr Chopra also recounted how she was in awe of the way Priyanka took care of her health and beauty during her brother Siddharth's wedding. "I met her at the wedding, and I was amazed. Waah! Such translucent skin. She has maintained her weight and works really hard on herself," she expressed.
The science of healthy skin
While Priyanka's glowing complexion is enviable, experts highlight that good skincare isn't about perfection—it's about maintaining skin health at every stage of life.
Dr Seema Oberoi Lall, consultant dermatologist at CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram, explains that healthy skin is not about looking flawless but about being age-appropriate, resilient and disease-free.
1. Age-appropriate skincare
Skin evolves with time, and expecting a youthful, childlike glow at every age is unrealistic. "True skin health aligns with one's life stage—youth, adulthood or maturity—without chasing unattainable perfection," Dr Lall explains.
2. Disease-free and resilient skin
Healthy skin is free from chronic irritation, severe acne, allergies or conditions that cause discomfort. "It should be able to tolerate everyday skincare products without excessive sensitivity, rashes or sun damage," Dr Lall notes.
3. Embracing natural skin tone
According to Dr Lall, good skin isn't about fairness or whitening treatments—it's about maintaining the best version of your natural complexion. Skin colour is determined by genetics, and attempting to alter it doesn't equate to healthier skin.
4. Strength and comfort
"A strong skin barrier should adapt to skincare routines without excessive reactions," shares Dr Lall, adding, "Healthy skin feels goods, looks radiant and remains resilient against environmental stressors."

Dr Lall emphasises that true skin health isn't about chasing an unrealistic ideal but about maintaining a well-nourished, resilient complexion.
