American guitarist and singer-songwriter John Mayer is all set to make his debut in India, but fans have to wait a bit longer. The Grammy-winning artist's show in Mumbai has been rescheduled from January 22, 2026, to February 11, 2026.

BookMyShow Live released an official statement announcing the postponement, citing "unforeseen circumstances" as the reason.

The organisers also made it clear that all current tickets would still be valid for the new date at Mahalaxmi Race Course.

The official statement reads, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the John Mayer concert scheduled for January 22nd, 2026, has been postponed to February 11th, 2026, at Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mumbai.”

The statement added, “All existing tickets purchased on bookmyshow will remain valid for the rescheduled date. For any ticket related inquiries, please contact our customer service team at reachout@bookmyshow.com.”

“We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you soon. The abrupt change immediately provoked criticism on the internet,” it concluded.

In an earlier interview with Rolling Stone India, John Mayer said that “India has long been on my list of places to play, not just for the vibrancy of its culture but for the way music lives in the everyday lives of people here. To finally perform in Mumbai feels both humbling and exhilarating."

For aficionados of live music, John Mayer's debut in India is still a significant event despite the postponement. The artist behind classics like Gravity, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, and Waiting On The World To Change will perform in the one-night solo show, which is produced by BookMyShow Live.

With the release of his albums Room for Squares and Heavier Things in the early 2000s, John Mayer became a well-known rock and pop singer. Mayer immediately established himself as a musician who could strike a balance between mainstream appeal and technical credibility because of his distinctive voice tone and skilful guitar technique.

His ability to combine pop frameworks with blues-inspired guitar arrangements was one of the ways that his songwriting and playing influenced a number of subsequent performers.
