Today we celebrate the 77th Republic Day and on this day, PM Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to all citizens. He said, "May this grand national festival, a symbol of India's honour, pride, and glory, infuse new energy and enthusiasm into your lives."

Like every year, PM Modi wore a pagdi and an immaculate kurta, churidar and his signature Modi jacket to ring in the festivities in style. This time around, he chose to wear a striking dark blue kurta and light blue jacket over it. He also wore a red pagdi that features motifs in golden colour. The work on it has a striking resemblance to Rajasthani print. Seemingly, the golden motifs are made using zari. The pagdi also has a long tail. Clearly, PM Modi never misses an opportunity to display traditional heritage of India or the work of Indian artisans.

As per colour psychology, every colour stands for certain virtues. The blue colour family represents trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence and stability. The contrast of blue attire with red pagdi also looks interesting indeed.

As usual PM Modi's outfit was tailored to perfection and he looked spotless in it. To round off his look, he wore black moccasins.

This year, to preside over the festivities as chief guest, president of European Council Antonio Costa and President of European Commission Ursula von der Leyen have come.

PM Modi also visited the National War Memorial to pay homage to fallen soldiers.

From time to time, PM Modi has worn turbans in different prints on seminal occasions. Not only do they look good on him, but by wearing them he also tries to promote different cultures and Indian craftsmanship.
