Former Miss Switzerland finalist Kristina Joksimovic (38) died in February 2024 and now her husband, identified as Thomas (43) under Swiss privacy laws, has been charged with her murder. This was revealed by Swiss authorities on December 11. Thomas has been accused of strangulating his wife before dismembering her and attempting to dispose of her remains inside their home in Binningen last year.
As per autopsy report and court documents, Kritina's body was cut apart with a jigsaw knife and garden shears. Investigators revealed that the accused had removed the model's womb before chopping off other parts of her body with an industrial blender. They were pureed and later dissolved in a chemical solution. The report also revealed that Thomas had allegedly snapped her hip joints, removed multiple limps, cut her spine and eventually decapitated her body.
Going by court documents, while Thomas was dismembering his wife, he was watching YouTube videos on his phone.
As per the NY Post, the first person to find the remains of the model's body was her father. The latter happened to spot it after he saw blonde hair sticking out of a black bag in the laundry room of the home.
Initially, Thomas claimed that he found his wife dead. It was only in March, he admitted to have killed in self defence after Kristina allegedly attacked him with a knife. However, forensic evidence didn't find any evidence of the same. Their conclusion was that the cause of Kristina's death was strangulation.
In court documents, police mentioned that Thomas displayed a “remarkably high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy, and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife.”
A trial date isn't set yet, however, Thomas is in police custody.
The model was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and was a finalist of Miss Switzerland in 2007. Later, she began her coaching career where she used to mentor many models. The model had two daughters with her husband. She died at the age of 38.
