Janhvi Kapoor, who attended TIFF 2025 with the cast of ‘Homebound', stole the spotlight with some of the most attention-worthy outfits. While she showcased Indian designers and represented the country’s heritage and fine craftsmanship on the global stage, she also wore international designer labels. Here’s a look at the four outfits she donned at the film festival, styled by Rhea Kapoor and Sanya Kapoor, that earned her widespread praise.
Embroidered Blazer and Capris
Janhvi wore a pair of stunning capris, her second time this year. Her blazer and capris by Ritu Kumar celebrated Indian craftsmanship with intricate embroidery in vivid hues, striking patterns, and floral motifs. From the sharp tailoring of the jacket to the sleek fit of the capris, the ensemble seamlessly blended traditional work with contemporary design.
The look was styled with luxury pieces — dainty earrings, a vintage Piaget watch, a golden clutch, and glittering matching shoes. Her makeup featured fresh pink tones, while her hair was styled in a sleek bun.
Saree-Inspired Miu Miu Gown
Janhvi’s fluid black and white Miu Miu gown was a reminder that the classic combination never fails on the red carpet. Inspired by a saree, the one-shoulder, polka-dotted number featured a perfectly draped bodice and a wrap detail at the waist. It also included an arm drape seamlessly stitched at the back.
Her accessories were kept minimal to let the look shine. She carried a camel-hued fur stole, and added brooches at the waist and on the stole. For beauty, her makeup was subtle, and her hair was styled in vintage waves.
Prada’s Interpretation of Saree
The most talked-about look was Prada’s interpretation of the saree. Highlighting the golden dress, Rhea Kapoor wrote, “@janhvikapoor wears Prada Spring 2004 at @tiff_net. The Spring 2004 collection saw Miuccia Prada celebrate the feminine with an interpretation of the sari in a 1950s silhouette.”
The golden dress, paired with the golden jacket, made a compelling statement. She completed the look with heels by Aprajita Toor, inspired by the Kolhapuri chappal. For makeup, Janhvi opted for fresh pink and gold tones that complemented the ensemble, while her side-parted hair was styled naturally to finish the glamorous look.
Resham Saree with Jamawar-inspired motifs
The first look Janhvi wore at the festival displayed the beauty of Indian textiles and craftsmanship: a resham saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, inspired by the colours and motifs of jamawar. It was paired with an antique jamawar shawl from the stylist’s collection, adorned with handmade silk resham tassels.
Stylist Rhea Kapoor shared more details of the saree on Instagram, writing, “Completing the ensemble, a vintage men’s jamawar jacket from the 1980s, upcycled and embroidered by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Together, these pieces highlight the enduring legacy of Kashmiri textile traditions.”
Adding to the charm of her ethnic look were silver earrings inspired by the Kashmiri dejhur. Janhvi’s layered outfit was styled with a sleek gelled bun and flawless, airbrushed makeup in warm tones.
