These plant actives are anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal, making neem effective against acne, eczema, psoriasis, and even minor skin infections. They turn to products that have no harsh side effects,” says Dr Hariprasad.
Neem is often used to treat acne. “Its antibacterial properties fight Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria behind breakouts while its anti-inflammatory nature soothes redness and swelling. Neem oils, face washes, and purifying masks are often recommended as gentle solutions, especially for sensitive, acne prone skin," says the expert.

Easy DIY neem recipe
Crush a handful of fresh neem leaves into a paste, mix with a teaspoon of turmeric, and apply to your face. Leave for 15 minutes before rinsing. This helps to calm acne, redness, and irritation naturally.
