Sumona Chakravarti has been part of many successful television serials, but she is best remembered for playing Kapil Sharma’s wife, Manju, in Comedy Nights With Kapil, and later as Sarla Gulati, a girl in love with him, on The Kapil Sharma Show. While she may not be part of the cast now, she is killing it elsewhere.
Recently, the actress posted videos on Instagram, performing an intense core workout. In the first, she is seen hanging from a pull-up bar doing an L-sit hold, which requires the legs to be in a seated L-position with the knees bent. Additionally, a weight plate is placed on her thighs to increase the intensity of the core engagement.
In the second video, a 6 kg medicine ball is placed between her knees, and she is seen moving it up and down while again hanging from the pull-up bar. Sharing the video, she wrote, “Challenging the body one day at a time! My workout time is also my ‘me’ time. My mind is also not thinking about any other thing.”
Fitness benefits of Core Exercises
There are several benefits to doing such advanced core exercises. They are excellent for building core strength and for improving endurance and control. Additionally, weights help increase resistance and the effectiveness of the exercise. Holding the pull-up bar enhances grip strength and improves shoulder stability, along with better coordination. The medicine ball further helps with stabilising the back, building lower body resilience, and more.
While Sumona is hard at work and following the instructions of her trainer to a T, her stylish gym attire is not to be missed. She sported a rich red sports bra and leggings, wearing her hair in a bun for comfort and ease of movement. She also ditched shoes and performed the exercises barefoot.
