A wave of grief has swept through social media as news broke of Shefali Jariwala’s untimely death from a heart attack. The actress, famed for her iconic appearance in the music video Kaanta Laga, was only in her prime.
Fans and Bollywood celebrities alike have flooded online platforms with heartfelt tributes and condolences to her family.
Shefali rose to fame when Kaanta Laga became a nationwide sensation, etching her name into pop culture. Beyond her music video success, she also showcased her versatility on reality TV. The actress participated in Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7 alongside her husband Parag Tyagi, and in 2019, she entered the Bigg Boss house, gaining even more widespread attention.
Yet beneath the glamour was an accomplished, well-rounded individual. Shefali earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the prestigious Sardar Patel Engineering College in Gujarat, proving she was far more than just a pretty face.
She epitomised the “beauty with brains” ideal, balancing academic prowess with her entertainment career.
Her personal life, too, was eventful. She married Parag Tyagi—whom she’d met at a mutual friend’s dinner—after a four-year relationship and tied the knot in 2014.
Prior to that, she had been married to musician Harmeet Singh of the Meet Bros Duo; that marriage ended in divorce in 2009.
Shefali was also in a relationship with late Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla.

Behind the brightness of her public persona lay a courageous private struggle. Shefali battled epilepsy, suffering her first seizure at just 15 years old.
For much of her career, she concealed her condition, quietly managing it despite the associated stress and anxiety. Over time, she credited regular exercise with helping her control her seizures and combat depression, promoting physical fitness as a vital aspect of mental well-being.
Recent media reports suggest that she left behind an estate valued at around USD 1 million (approximately ₹7.5 crore), though no official confirmation has been made public.
Shefali Jariwala's death has sparked sorrow across the entertainment community, but her legacy lives on—through a career that spanned music, television, and film, her educational achievements, and her resilience in the face of private adversity.
