When Hema Malini once spoke about Dharmendra's first wife: 'I didn’t want to disturb anyone, happy with whatever he did for me and my daughters'

Veteran actor Dharmendra is in the news right now after he was rushed to the hospital, and his loved ones are by his side now, including wife Hema Malini and sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, along with daughter Hema Malini.

Talking about Esha Deol, she had once spoken about her first meeting with her father's first wife, Prakash Kaur.

Esha had once spoken about her first meeting with Prakash Kaur, and it wasn't when she was young or in her teens but much later at the age of 30.

Both the families have maintained a distance and equal respect for each other.

Esha Deol is the elder daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She had a younger sister, Ahana Deol, who is married to a Delhi-based businessman.

Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur years before he entered the film industry. It was many years later that love blossomed between him and Hema Malini during their film shoots.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini got married in 1980, and at that time this was a topic of much discussion.

In her memoir, 'Hema Malini: Beyond the Dream Girl', it is written that Hema's elder daughter, Esha, visited Dharmendra’s first home in Juhu at the time when her uncle, Ajit Singh Deol, was seriously ill.

This was her first-ever meeting with Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur.

Recalling that incident, Esha shared, "I touched her feet, she blessed me, and I walked away."

For long, Hema Malini has always refrained from speaking about her personal life, and she has rarely spoken about Prakash Kaur.

In her memoir, Hema Malini wrote that there are some things that are best kept private.

“I didn’t want to disturb anyone. I am happy with whatever Dharamji did for me and my daughters. He played the role of a father, like any father would do," she wrote in her memoir.

She has always mentioned that both her daughters have respected their dad's first family. “Though I have never spoken about Prakash, I respect her a lot. Even my daughters respect Dharamji’s family. The world wants to know about my life in detail, but that is not for others to know. It’s no one’s business."

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital and had famous visitors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Govinda, to name a few. His family, including sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and wife Hema Malini, are also by his side at the hospital.
