Vikrant Massey lefts his fans shell shocked on Monday morning when he tweeted that he is going to retire from movies. Now exactly 24 hours later, the 12th Fail actor has clarified his statement and said he is 'not retiring.'
His new statement comes as a relief to his fans across the globe.
Vikrant had shared a note on Instagram, expressing his desire to "recalibrate and go back home." He explained that he wants to focus on spending quality time with his family and fulfilling his roles as a husband, father, and son. Vikrant also mentioned that he has two more movies lined up before he plans to take a break.
Now in conversation with News18’s Showsha, The Sabarmati Report actor has clarified that his statement was misread and that he is not retiring but only taking a long break.
"I'm not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up… People misread it," he told News 18.
“Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. " He continued.
"Vikrant concluded, "My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right."
Vikrant was in Delhi yesterday for the screening of The Sabarmati Report. The movie's special screening was held for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA in Parliament house complex.
For the uninitiated, Vikrant Massey announced this decision to step back from his acting career.
He wrote, "Hello, The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,"
On the work front, Vikrant Massey will next appear in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's documentary film Zero Se Restart. He is also involved in two other projects: Amit Joshi’s Yaar Jigri, co-starring Sunny Singh, and Santosh Singh’s Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, alongside Shanaya Kapoor.
