The latest reality show, The 50, as indicated by its title, features fifty contestants from the entertainment sector for an unusual and distinctive adventure. Karan Patel and Ridhi Dogra, along with Prince Narula and Nikki Tamboli, were part of a blend of TV celebrities, reality show figures, influencers, and others showcased on the program. Stand-up comic Sumaira Shaikh also stepped into the lion’s den; nonetheless, her adventure concluded in merely two days.
Discussing her experience, she shared that her extreme honesty with her fellow contestants likely did not benefit her. In an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol, she discussed her experience being on the show, having lacked time to bond with the contestants, and if she would take on another reality show.
Sumaira shared, “I think it was a great opportunity for me to be on the show. Everyone likes being known, and this platform, I feel, gives the perfect opportunity. This was my first reality show, and there were so many renowned names, which I saw as both an advantage and a disadvantage as well. The advantage was in terms of the fact that I will learn a lot from them, and the disadvantage was because they have done other shows, so they know what they have to do to get mileage. There are many contestants who have done previous reality shows, and they not only know how to be seen but also how to play the game. They have formed groups and are moving forward. There is very little scope for solo players like me.”
When asked what is next in her kitty now that she is eliminated, Samaira expressed, “I plan to focus more on stand-up, which is my strength; however, I would love to go back on the show, but that is in the hands of the makers.”
We also questioned her about who, according to her, the red and green flags in the game represent. She mentioned, “Kaka, Sapna Choudhary, Karan Patel, Ridhi Dogra, and Monalisa are green flags. They are very nice and sweet people. I would not say red flags, but people who are giving cutthroat competition are Prince Narula and Shiv Thakare. They are the ones who, if they don’t know you, are taking very prompt decisions. I think they are good players from a game perspective.”
Talking about where she lacked in the game, Sumaira elaborated, “Frankly, no one was against me personally, as I was a new face. I thought that the groups that are there would fight among themselves, as they would have past rivalries, and then they would come to us, but it was completely the opposite. They are saving their groups and known faces and eliminating fresh faces like Vanshaj Singh, who was out in the initial phase of the game.”

Shedding light on entering as a wild card contestant, Sumaira averred, “I just feel that those who are getting back in the show should up their game and interact more, particularly with Prince Narula. I personally felt bad, and Prince kept telling me that I don’t interact much, so I would advise whoever is going that they should keep a close connection with Prince. He is a strong player and does not play emotionally; hence, he is not vulnerable. He is emotionally attached to his people, and he has done so many reality shows like Roadies, so he is a very strong player.”
