Breast cancer warrior and actress Hina Khan walked the ramp with Dr Sewanti Limaye, Director, Medical and Precision Oncology, Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, along with cancer survivors, doctors, and caregivers, to spread awareness about cancer prevention at Illuminate 3.0 – Oncology Townhall.
The actress explained to the audience that a cancer diagnosis does not automatically mean death. She emphasized that with proper screening and timely medical tests, the disease can be fought. According to her, medical science has progressed tremendously, and receiving treatment at the right time plays a crucial role. Hina also shared that throughout her entire journey — and even today — her husband Rocky and her family have remained her strongest pillars of support. Their unwavering encouragement has been her greatest source of strength.
Speaking from the stage, Hina said, “I consider myself very lucky to have gotten the opportunity to be here. It is because of the doctors that I am standing here today. I am well today because of my family’s love and the courage of my husband Rocky. Even after marriage, nothing has changed in our relationship. He still takes care of me the same way he always did.” Her words left many in the audience emotional. She clearly expressed that when family stands beside you, even the most difficult phases feel easier to endure.

Reflecting on her cancer journey, Hina shared, “I have been going through this phase for quite some time and I am still trying to recover. People ask me what I did, but it is not necessary that what worked for me will work for everyone because every person’s body is different.” She further encouraged people to live in the present and try to remain happy in every situation, pointing out that life can take unexpected turns at any moment. Even those who appear healthy today may suddenly face serious illnesses, which is why every moment should be lived fully.
In June 2024, Hina Khan revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer and shared that she was undergoing chemotherapy as part of her treatment.
