Smriti Irani wishes Ashlesha Sawant and Sandeep Baswana a happy married life

Anupamaa actress Ashlesha Sawant (Savant) and renowned actor Sandeep Baswana tied the knot on Sunday (November 23). The couple posted the initial images from their wedding to reveal the news. Ashlesha, who started her career with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, received a congratulatory message for the newlyweds, humorously referring to herself as an 'irritating idiot'.

Describing the couple as 'unique, unconventional, and beautifully themselves', Smriti revealed that Ashlesha and Sandeep have consistently been profoundly in love. She lovingly called herself the “irritating idiot” who would always joke with them by enquiring when they intended to tie the knot.

The love story of Ashlesha and Sandeep started in 2002. The pair got married on November 16, 2025, at the Chandrodaya temple in Vrindavan. The wedding ceremony was intimate, attended by immediate family only.

In case you weren't aware, Ashlesha and Sandeep's romance commenced in 2002, coinciding with the launch of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Smriti mentioned in her post, which read," Some love stories take the most interesting turns. They begin not with rituals, but with realism. They promise nothing except companionship. Uploading a slew of pictures from their D-day, Ashlesha and Sandeep wrote in a joint post, "And just like that, we stepped into a new chapter as Mr & Mrs… Tradition found its way into our hearts. We are filled with gratitude for all the blessings."

Reflecting on the start of it all, Sandeep had shared with Bombay Times in 2024, "As her place was far from the set, she would stay at my house a few nights during the week. And those few nights turned into months, and we recognised that we were content with one another” (sic).
