Television actor Mahhi Vij is finally back home after a health scare that left her hospitalised for several days.

The popular television star, who was admitted due to a high fever and severe viral infection, shared her happiness with fans on Saturday by posting a heartfelt photo with her family including her children and captioned it as, “Back home.”

The 43-year-old had been unwell for nearly a week, with her condition worrying fans and friends alike.

After undergoing a series of medical tests for malaria, dengue, and typhoid, all of which came back negative, Mahhi revealed that she had been diagnosed with a severe viral infection.

Earlier, from her hospital bed, Mahhi posted a video updating her followers on her condition. Her voice sounded weak but hopeful as she said, “Hi guys, just giving you an update about my health. This morning I got a fever and shivers again. My dengue test came back negative. Malaria and typhoid tests have also come back negative. It’s viral. It’s severe viral.”

In the same video, she opened up about the emotional toll her illness had taken, especially since it kept her away from work.

“What upsets me the most is that I’m not able to go for my shoot. I really want to go. It’s my dream project, and I’ve given it my all. Please keep me in your prayers. Pray that I recover soon and can return to the shoot,” she added.

Fans flooded social media with well-wishes after seeing Mahhi’s post, expressing relief that she is finally home and on the road to recovery. Her husband, Jay Bhanushali, and daughter Tara were also seen in the photo, beaming with joy to have her back.

The actor’s illness came amid ongoing rumours about her marriage to Jay. However, Mahhi had previously addressed these reports in a YouTube video, requesting people to respect her privacy and stop speculating about her personal life.

For now, Mahhi is focusing on getting her strength back, spending time with her family, and gearing up to return to the sets of what she described as her “dream project.”
