Earlier this week, there were reports that Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, one of the most well-known couples on television, were having marital issues. There were speculations that Jay and Mahhi were divorcing after 14 years of marriage.

For those who are unaware, Tara, the couple's first biological child, was born in August 2019 after they were married in 2010. They are also proud parents of two foster children, Rajveer and Khushi.

Mahhi has finally spoken out about the rumours surrounding their divorce following a flurry of conjecture.

Mahhi used a scathing remark in the comment section to put an end to the divorce rumours. The model-turned-actress labelled it a "false narrative" and warned of legal action.

"Avoid posting misleading tales. I'll take legal action against this," she mentioned.

Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij reportedly finalised their divorce and agreed on child custody back in July or August, according to Hindustan Times. According to the article, Mahhi's developing mistrust of Jay is the cause of their breakup.

"Many attempts were made, but nothing was altered. Separation took place a long time ago. A few months ago, they filed for divorce. In July and August, the documents were finalised and signed, and the children's custody was also settled upon,” quoted the newspaper from a source.

Fans of Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij are surprised by reports that they are divorcing. The Laagi Tujhse Lagan actress' outburst in response to an Instagram post about their divorce has garnered widespread attention, even though none of them has formally acknowledged the persistent divorce rumours.

Their divorce was discussed on an Instagram page with the caption, "It's Over? According to sources, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, who had been married for 14 years, signed and finalised their divorce papers in July and August of 2025. Their three children's custody has also been determined.

"Much was tried, but nothing changed," a source told the Hindustan Times. Separation took place a long time ago. A few months ago, they filed for divorce. According to reports, the couple's tense relationship was largely caused by trust concerns. At their daughter Tara's birthday celebration, the pair was last spotted together in public.

The actress went on to say that people have extremely different perspectives on divorce and single mothers. Many people anticipate there will be turmoil and the pair will start blaming each other, she added.
