PAN-India star Prabhas is gearing up for his next theatrical release with The Raja Saab, a thriller horror-comedy entertainer that promises a blend of mystery, spectacle, and mass appeal.

Directed by Maruthi, the film is slated for a grand release on January 9, 2026, perfectly timed for the Sankranthi festive season. Following the much-discussed pre-release event held on Saturday, the makers have now unveiled the trailer, and it has quickly sparked excitement across fan circles.

The trailer reveals a striking premise centered on Prabhas and his eerie connection to a haunted legacy. Sanjay Dutt plays Prabhas’ grandfather, a powerful figure whose death does not mark the end of his influence. Instead, he transforms into an unstoppable evil force, with his soul residing within a mysterious mansion. Drawn by unanswered questions about his grandfather’s past, Prabhas moves into this mansion, unaware of the immense danger lurking within its walls.

What follows is a chilling setup where everyone who enters the mansion falls under Sanjay Dutt’s trance, highlighting the terrifying dominance of his presence even beyond death. The bungalow itself feels like a sprawling maze, packed with hidden chambers, strange wonders, and unsettling secrets. Prabhas, along with his friends, soon finds himself trapped inside, setting the stage for a tense narrative driven by curiosity and fear.

The trailer smartly raises several intriguing questions. What is the real mystery behind Sanjay Dutt’s character? Why is his spirit so powerful? And how does Prabhas’ character, tied to a royal lineage, fit into this dark puzzle? These unanswered threads create strong intrigue and push expectations higher with every frame.

Technically, the trailer stands out for its rich visuals and gripping background score. Sanjay Dutt’s avatar, presented on an almost giant scale, is particularly impressive, with well-executed VFX adding to the menace. Prabhas’ old-world getup and hints of a royal backstory lend depth to his character and suggest a layered narrative beyond standard horror-comedy tropes.

The film also features Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads, while Boman Irani and Zarina Wahab appear in significant roles. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film is mounted on a massive scale. Music composed by Thaman S further elevates the trailer’s impact, making The Raja Saab one of the most anticipated releases of the coming year.
