Rumours move faster than official announcements, and Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge just became the latest example. Over the past few days, social media was flooded with claims that the trailer of the Ranveer Singh-starrer would drop on March 3. Fans marked calendars, fan pages began countdowns, and excitement reached fever pitch. But here is the thing — none of it was confirmed.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh stepped in to clear the air. Taking to X, he categorically dismissed the reports about a March 3 trailer launch. According to him, the information circulating online was unverified and not backed by any official communication from the makers.
Adarsh further revealed that he personally reached out to Jio Studios for clarity. The studio reportedly confirmed that no trailer release date has been announced so far. They also urged audiences to wait for an official statement before believing or sharing any claims. In an era where speculation often passes off as news, the clarification was necessary.
The buzz, however, speaks volumes about the anticipation surrounding the sequel. With Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge slated to hit theatres on March 19, expectations are sky-high. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film is positioned as a high-voltage action entertainer and one of the most awaited releases of the month.

Interestingly, while the trailer date remains under wraps, the film is already making noise overseas. Early box office tracking in North America suggests strong momentum. As per estimates shared by trade tracker Venky Box Office, Dhurandhar 2 has collected approximately $33,723 in advance bookings in the United States. The film has reportedly sold 1,953 tickets across 151 locations, accounting for 209 scheduled shows.
In comparison, its box office rival Toxic, directed by Geethu Mohandas and starring Yash, has grossed around $3,665 in advance sales so far. Toxic has sold 189 tickets across 81 locations with 122 shows listed. At this early stage, Dhurandhar 2 appears to be leading comfortably, clocking more than ten times the advance sales of its competitor.
That said, industry insiders are urging caution. These numbers have been recorded nearly three weeks before release, and booking patterns can shift rapidly. Show counts are expected to expand, more locations will likely be added, and promotional campaigns could alter the trajectory for both films.
