Tamannaah Bhatia turns heads in the recently released item number, Nasha, from the upcoming action thriller Raid 2. The actress flaunted a sizzling persona and bold dance moves in the track.
There have been recent reports that the film’s certification was changed from U/A 7+ to U/A 13+ because of Tamannaah's song Nasha. However, producer Abhishek Pathak has now clarified the rumours and revealed that the certification didn’t change because of the song.
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Abhishek clarified, “It’s not because of the song. We had a few cuts in the film, and we committed to a few more—that’s why the certification was supposed to change. But it’s still a U/A certification, so there’s no problem at all.”
He explained, “These cuts don’t affect or interfere with the story in any way. The film has been cleared without any [visual] cuts. It’s U/A 13+ without any cuts right now.”
However, Abhishek also responded to the reports of Raid 2 makers editing out some scenes and added new ones, including Tamannaah's Nasha and Yo Yo Honey Singh's Money Money. Abhishek agreed and admitted that Nasha was added to the film a bit later as the makers wanted a certain character to uplift another character.
He also claimed that the songs have been blended very well into the narrative, and the audience will not feel any odd moments.
However, producer Bhushan Kumar notably debunked the idea that adding a dance number was a ‘marketing tool.’He said, “People might feel that in a thriller like Raid 2, the songs would seem forced. But it’s not a marketing tool. It became a part of the story so well.”
He also explained that even the last track by Yo Yo Honey Singh was well-connected to the film, and all four songs were part of the screenplay.
Meanwhile, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak said that when they conceptualised the song, they unanimously decided to have Tamannaah in it. He added that both he and Bhushan had spoken to her, and she agreed to participate.
The upcoming film Raid 2 features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 1.
