Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is one of Bollywood's most highly anticipated films. Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi will play Sita. Earlier, television star Ravi Dubey confirmed he would be taking on the role of Lakshman.
There were also rumours about Sunny Deol playing Hanuman, and now the actor has officially confirmed his involvement in the film.
In an interview with SCREEN, Sunny Deol confirmed his involvement in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, stating, "Ramayana is a long project because they’re trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. All those technicians are a part of it. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented." The Gadar actor did not confirm whether he will be portraying Lord Hanuman in the film.
He further assured that the film would be visually stunning, saying, "You will also get to see the special effects that will make you believe that it (the events unfolding) has very genuinely happened rather than making one feel that these are special effects. To be honest, I’m very sure it’s going to be great and I’m sure that everybody will love it."
At the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Ranbir confirmed completing the shoot for the first part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and shared, "It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics."
This Diwali, Namit Malhotra, the producer of Ramayana, revealed the release dates for both parts of the much-awaited film. Along with the announcement, the first poster of the two-part epic was also unveiled.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film promises a grand cinematic experience, bringing the story of Ramayana to life in two parts, each featuring a stellar cast and state-of-the-art visual effects. The first installment is expected to introduce the key characters and setting, while the second part will explore the mythological drama in greater depth.
