Suniel Shetty is experiencing a deeply emotional moment as his son Ahaan Shetty becomes part of a song that is closely tied to his own cinematic legacy. The makers of Border 2 have released the film’s third song, Jaate Hue Lamhon, which brings back one of the most iconic emotional tracks from the original Border, now recreated for a new generation.
The song has its roots in Border, where the original track Ae Jaate Hue Lamhon played during a powerful farewell scene. In the film, Suniel Shetty portrayed soldier Bhairav Singh, who sings the song as he bids goodbye to his newly married wife before heading off for military duty. The scene captured the pain of separation, the strength of love, and the silent sacrifices made by soldiers and their families. Over the years, the song became one of the most remembered and cherished moments of the film.
Now, nearly three decades later, the song has returned in Border 2, this time with Suniel Shetty’s son Ahaan being part of it. Sharing his happiness, Suniel Shetty said,
“Roop ji had sung this song for me, and it became an iconic song in the film. Today, my son is a part of this very song, and in the second film, he also gets the opportunity to play a naval officer. Probably one of the first naval officers shown in Indian cinema on screen. I truly feel blessed.”
For Border 2, the makers have kept the original lyrics intact, written once again by Javed Akhtar, ensuring that the emotional core of the song remains unchanged.
At the same time, the song has been given a fresh sound. This new version is sung by Vishal Mishra, with music composed by Mithoon. The original version was composed by Anu Malik and sung by Roop Kumar Rathod.
Adding to the emotion, Vishal Mishra recently shared a video where Roop Kumar Rathod is seen guiding him through the song. Along with the clip, he wrote that singing the song in front of its original voice and receiving his blessings was a moment he would always cherish.
The makers are also planning a meaningful launch for the song in Khasa, Amritsar, in the presence of Indian soldiers and their families. The event, scheduled around Lohri, is expected to host thousands of army personnel, making the release a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of service and sacrifice that Border has always stood for.
