Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's much-anticipated film "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" has recently found itself in the middle of a legal dispute. The movie, which had already generated a significant buzz, is now making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The trouble began when Adlabs, a well-known film production and distribution company, accused the makers of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" of copyright infringement.

Adlabs claims that "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" infringes on the copyrights of two of its films, "Caller" (2011) and "Call" (2019). Both these films are reportedly owned by Adlabs, which acquired exclusive rights for valuable consideration. According to Adlabs, the storyline and content of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" are strikingly similar to their original films, which prompted them to take legal action against Echelon Productions, the producers of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran".

To address the situation, Adlabs initially sent a legal notice to Echelon Productions, warning them of the potential copyright infringement. When there was no satisfactory response, Adlabs decided to escalate the matter further by filing a formal complaint with the Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC).

In their complaint, Adlabs has called upon Echelon Productions to disclose the script of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" to ensure there is no plagiarism involved. They have also demanded that Echelon refrain from creating any third-party rights for the film until the matter is resolved. This means that Echelon cannot sell the distribution rights or make any agreements with other parties regarding the film.

The legal battle has cast a shadow over what was expected to be a major release. For the cast and crew of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran," this comes as a significant setback, especially considering that the film's final schedule was wrapped up in June, just before Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's much-publicized wedding.

If Adlabs' claims are proven true, Echelon Productions could face severe financial and legal consequences. They might have to halt the release of the film altogether, or worse, pay substantial damages for copyright infringement. The company could also be forced to make substantial changes to the film's script and storyline, which could further delay its release.

So far, neither Sonakshi Sinha nor Zaheer Iqbal has made any public comments regarding the situation. Echelon Productions, on the other hand, has remained tight-lipped as well, with the company’s representatives declining to comment on the matter.

Attempts to reach Vishal Rana, a key figure associated with the production, have been unsuccessful, as he has remained unavailable for comment. This silence has only fueled speculation, leaving fans and industry insiders alike wondering about the fate of "Tu Hai Meri Kiran."

The next steps in this legal battle will depend on the response of Echelon Productions to Adlabs’ demands and the findings of the IFTPC. If Echelon can prove that "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" is an original work with no substantial similarities to Adlabs’ films, the movie might still see the light of day as planned.
