Director Ashwni Dhir's 18-year-old son dies in car accident

The car crashed into the divider between the service road and the bridge at Vile Parle, leading to the tragic deaths of Jalaj and his friend Sarthak Kaushik. Their other friend, Jimmy, reported the incident to the police. The driver, Sahil Mendha, was arrested on charges of drunk driving.

Filmmaker Ashwni Dhir, known for movies like Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge and Son of Sardar, has tragically lost his 18-year-old son, Jalaj Dhir, in a car accident in the wee hours of november 25.

As per reports, Jalaj was travelling in a car with three friends when the tragic accident occurred. The crash claimed the lives of two people, including Jalaj and one of his friends. It was also reported that the driver of the car was intoxicated and was driving at speeds between 120-150 mph.

The car crashed into the divider between the service road and the bridge at Vile Parle, leading to the tragic deaths of Jalaj and his friend Sarthak Kaushik. Their other friend, Jimmy, reported the incident to the police. The driver, Sahil Mendha, was arrested on charges of drunk driving.

According to a report in news daily Amar Ujala, Jalaj and his three friends were spending time at his place, playing video games until 3:30 am. Afterward, they went for a drive, stopped for dinner at Sidgi in Bandra, and got back into the car at 4:10 am.

Reports indicate that Sahil, who was driving the car under the influence of alcohol, lost control and crashed. As a result, he and Jimmy sustained minor injuries, while Jalaj and Sarthak suffered fatal wounds.

Jalaj was immediately rushed to the trauma hospital in Jogeshwari East and later transferred to Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, Sahil took Sarthak to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra West, where he too was declared dead after examination.
