If you want an alternative to a Christmas tree this holiday season, look no further. There are several plants that can be grown indoors and work well for the festivities. Here are some options you shouldn’t miss, as they will beautify your space just as well.

Norfolk Island Pine

This is a great replacement for a Christmas tree and looks lovely with its needle-like leaves when placed indoors. For a festive touch, add ornaments and string lights. Placing it near windows is a good idea, as it requires bright sun with a bit of afternoon shade. Also, plant it in rich, well-draining soil.

Italian Cypress

With its bushy and lush appearance, it makes for a beautiful plant resembling a Christmas tree. It doesn’t require high maintenance and grows well with a few hours of direct sunlight and well-draining soil. With its unique shape, it gives a perfect festive vibe.

Dwarf Alberta Spruce

It is an outdoor plant that prefers cold climates. Although rarely seen in India, its cone-like shape makes it an ideal holiday tree. Decorate it with string lights and ornaments for the perfect glow-up in the winter months. If you want it indoors, place it in a cool room near a window for bright light.

Boston Fern

These plants instantly elevate a space with their lush leaves that can be trimmed and shaped to look like a Christmas tree. They grow best in bright, indirect light and prefer nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. Boston ferns also tend to grow tall and wide, adding beauty to any room.

Coffee Arabica

It’s a treat to grow this coffee plant at home. If kept outdoors, it prefers partial shade, and bright, indirect light indoors. While it takes a few years to produce flowers, fruits, and beans, it can be decorated for a more festive vibe in the meantime.

Rosemary

Rosemary works as a beautiful alternative to a Christmas tree. It is a fragrant evergreen shrub that can be decorated for festivities and also be used as a herb to season dishes. It prefers bright sun and warm temperatures. Place it on sunny windowsills and decorate it with glitzy ornaments for extra glow.
