Somy Ali, a former Bollywood actress and social activist, has reportedly been approached to participate in the upcoming season of Bigg Boss 18. The news has generated significant buzz among fans and media alike, given Somy's past relationship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

Somy Ali and Salman Khan's relationship was a hot topic in the '90s. The two reportedly dated for about eight years before calling it quits in 1999. Their relationship had its fair share of ups and downs, with several rumors and speculations surrounding their time together.

The couple worked together in the film ‘Buland’, which unfortunately never saw a release. Post their breakup, Somy accused Salman of infidelity, a claim that added more fuel to the fire in the media.

The news of Somy Ali's potential entry into Bigg Boss 18 was first reported by News18. A viral post on Instagram claimed that the makers of the controversial reality show had approached Somy for the upcoming season.

While there has been no official confirmation regarding her participation, the speculation has certainly piqued the interest of netizens and fans of the show. Given her past with Salman Khan, who is also the host of Bigg Boss, Somy's entry could bring a new dynamic to the show's already dramatic format.

Somy Ali has been quite vocal about her past relationship with Salman Khan. In 2021, she opened up about their breakup, stating, "I have said it 20 years ago as well and there was no point in confronting him as the relationship had already run its course irrespective of infidelity or not." She further mentioned that it was not mentally feasible for her to stay in the relationship or confront Salman.

In July this year, Somy took to her Instagram handle to share a cryptic post about her alleged abuser. She claimed that no one supported her during her 'MeToo' story because the alleged abuser was a "huge star." Somy shared a series of photos on social media, stating, "I will be told to take down posts. I will be questioned of my sanity. I will be gossiped about having a drinking problem (the irony) yet I will go on because you have not gone through all that humiliation, and every form of torture and abuse while no one sided with you because your abuser’s a huge star and you are friends with him. He can make or break your career."

Somy Ali's Bollywood career includes roles in a few films during the '90s, such as Krishan Avatar, Anth, Andolan and Mafia. She has often shared in interviews that her primary reason for entering Bollywood was to be with Salman Khan, having been inspired by his film Maine Pyar Kiya. Despite carrying a picture of him in her wallet and harboring dreams of marrying him, their relationship did not stand the test of time, leading to Somy's exit from Bollywood.

If Somy Ali does enter the Bigg Boss house, it will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about events of the season. Her participation could bring to light many past incidents and unresolved issues, making for compelling viewing. Additionally, it would provide Somy a platform to share her side of the story, potentially reaching a wider audience.
