Haryanvi dance star Sapna Chaudhary recently opened up about a harrowing experience from the early days of her career, recalling a frightening performance that made her fear for her life.

Speaking on the reality show The 50, the entertainer shared how a gig she accepted when she was struggling financially turned out to be far more dangerous than she ever expected.

Sapna explained that during the early phase of her journey as a performer, she and her mother were eager for any opportunity to earn, so they agreed to perform at an event held at a farmhouse. However, upon arrival, they were shocked to see the venue crowded with guests and around 25–26 tables, each with 8–9 guns placed openly — a sight that immediately made them uneasy, as if the gathering was a celebration for someone just released from prison.

Despite her discomfort, Sapna began performing as planned. During her solo number, a man in the crowd kept approaching her and whispering in her ear. Her mother, sensing something was wrong, asked what he was saying, but Sapna said she couldn’t hear clearly due to the loud surroundings. Moments later, that same man suddenly came up behind her and kissed her on the cheek before bolting away. The unexpected act of harassment left Sapna shocked and furious.

To this, they replied, "How is this possible, aunty? The dance is still going on. Complete the dance and go. Didn't we give you money? So dance and go."

“I immediately said I won’t perform anymore — they can kill me if they want, but I’m done,” she recalled, emphasising that her self-respect came first. Her mother stood by her side and confronted the organisers, reprimanding them for inviting performers and then allowing such behaviour. "Look, brother, you are calling someone else's daughter and doing this. This is very wrong."

The duo then decided to walk out, hand in hand, bracing themselves as they made their way through the crowd. Sapna admitted she feared they might be shot at any moment, given the number of weapons present. Only after they reached their car and drove away did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"There was a long path to get out, and throughout the distance we were thinking that "Here comes the shot". As soon as we got out of the gate and sat in the car, we finally breathed a sigh of relief", remembered Sapna.
