In a candid interview with Galatta India, Samantha shared that the injury led to significant memory loss, including forgetting names and experiencing blackouts on set.
During the interview, she recounted the pressure of completing the shoot within a tight timeframe. “I had a concussion and I forgot the names after that. I completely blanked out. That was quite something.” she stated.
Despite the difficulties, she was determined to push through. “I remember, during my concussion, hearing that we had the set only for less than a day, we needed to finish the shoot. So in my concussion, I was like, 'I am coming, people, I am coming'. Then I remember the stunt guy was in front of me, and then I was like, 'What am I doing?' and they were like, 'Okay, cut, not happening',” she explained.
Samantha was joined in the interview by the show's writer, Sita Menon, who added context to the situation. When Samantha mentioned that she didn’t remember anyone taking her to see a doctor, Menon clarified that a doctor was indeed on call during the shoot. “Now that I think of it, nobody took me to the hospital. Nobody asked me,” Samantha reflected. Menon confirmed, “They did have a doctor on call, which Samantha does not remember because of her concussion.”
The 37-year-old actress has been bravely battling myositis, a condition that likely contributed to her concussion. In Citadel: Honey Bunny, she stars alongside Varun Dhawan, with the series directed by Raj & DK, known for their work on The Family Man.
As part of the Russo Brothers' global spy universe, Citadel: Honey Bunny is set to premiere on November 7, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.
