Salman Khan’s former girlfriend and actress Somy Ali has made a fresh round of claim about the Maine Pyar Kiya actor amid the death threats he has been receiving from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Somy Ali in a fresh interview to a news channel has claimed that at that time she did discuss the black buck killing case with Salman when it did happen.
In her interview with India Today, Somy Ali said that Salman Khan didn't know the importance of blackbuck to the Bishnoi community.
“Why should he apologise for something he didn’t know about? That’s like doing something inadvertently, unintentionally and being forced to apologise for it. It makes no sense. It’s not about ego. People say that he (Salman) is very arrogant and he has a reputation. I have nothing to do with him or his family today. I just don’t want anyone murdered, in Bollywood or Hollywood. Violence is never the answer,” she said.
Further talking about the incident that happened in 1998, Somy Ali said, "The Bishnoi community needs to understand that Salman didn’t know. He told me that he had no idea. It’s absurd. I can assure you that Salman didn’t know the Bishnoi community worships blackbucks. I have been hunting with Salman many times during outdoor shooting. During the 1998 shooting, he didn’t take me because he said ‘you prey out loud on purpose and animals start running away’. I don’t like hunting as a sport. One time I didn’t go, he ended up catching the animal."
Still open for a chat with Lawrence Bishnoi
Somy, who is not in India, had last week in her social media post challenged Lawrence Bishnoi for a zoom chat. In this interview also she said she still wants to talk to Lawrence Bishnoi to understand his mindset.
"I am anti-death penalty and anti-murder. I am as concerned about Salman as I am about a man walking down the street or my neighbour. I do not want to have a conversation, do not have feelings for Salman. I do not care about him, I don’t want to reunite with him. I don’t want any publicity from him. I don’t want his money. I have my own money. The last time I spoke to Salman was in 2012. I haven’t spoken to him in years. The only thing I want is not for anyone to be murdered,” she ended.
Her statements come at a time when Salman Khan has received fresh round of death threats. The Mumbai traffic police received a threat message demanding Rs 5 crore from the Bollywood actor, following which the Crime Branch began a probe an official said on Friday.
A case was registered at Worli police under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for threat and extortion after the city’s traffic control room received the message on its WhatsApp helpline on Thursday afternoon, he said.
Salman Khan had earlier received death threats from the Bishnoi gang whose members had also opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home in April.
