Salman Khan was spotted arriving at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Wednesday to check on the health of his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. A short video doing the rounds on Instagram shows a black SUV pulling up at the hospital entrance, with security personnel and staff clearing the way as Salman steps out and heads inside.

The actor kept things low-key, choosing comfort over spectacle. Dressed casually and moving quickly, he avoided posing for cameras and did not address the media stationed outside. The focus, for once, stayed firmly on family rather than headlines.

Salim Khan, a towering figure in Hindi cinema and one half of the iconic writer duo Salim-Javed, has been associated with some of Bollywood’s most defining stories. From classics like Sholay and Deewaar to a body of work that shaped the language of mainstream cinema, his influence stretches across generations. News of his hospital visit naturally prompted concern among fans, especially given how private the family tends to be about personal health matters.

At the time of writing, there has been no official statement from the Khans about Salim Khan’s condition or the reason for his hospital visit.

Lilavati Hospital doctor Dr Jalil D Parkar, who is overseeing Salim Khan’s treatment, said the veteran writer is stable and under close observation. He described the situation as a minimal brain haemorrhage, adding that the ventilator support was taken as a precautionary step. Dr Parkar also clarified that no surgery was performed, and that doctors have begun the process of weaning him off ventilator assistance. While he indicated Salim Khan is out of immediate danger, he stressed it is too early to speak about discharge, as the patient remains sedated and is still being monitored closely.

Fans on social media responded with an outpouring of support, posting prayers and well-wishes for Salim Khan’s recovery. Many also shared old clips and interviews celebrating his legacy, calling him a master storyteller whose work continues to inspire writers and filmmakers today.
