For decades, Salman Khan has dominated the box office and headlines in equal measure. While his films continue to make noise, his personal life, especially his decision to remain unmarried, has always sparked curiosity. Over the years, he has been linked to several high-profile relationships, including Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali and Sangeeta Bijlani. Yet, at 59, the superstar remains single.

In an old interview with film trade analyst Komal Nahta, Salman’s father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, had offered a rare and candid perspective on why his son never tied the knot. The resurfaced clip is once again doing the rounds online.

Salim Khan did not mince words. “Salman ka pata nahi kya hai… Salman ki ek toh is wajah se bhi shaadi nahi hoti hai ki thoda sa contradiction bhi hai Salman ki thinking main,” he said, pointing to what he described as a fundamental contradiction in Salman’s approach to relationships.

According to Salim, Salman often develops feelings for his co-stars, something he attributed to the nature of their profession. “Salman ka lagao ya mohabbat… he’s attracted to the person jiske saath kaam karte hain.

They are very exciting, good-looking people,” he explained. Spending long hours together on film sets naturally creates closeness, and attraction can follow.

However, the real issue, Salim suggested, begins after commitment enters the picture. He revealed that Salman tends to look for qualities in his partner that remind him of his mother. “Jab commitment ho jaata hai toh voh usko convert karne ki koshish karta hai, usme apni maa dhoondta hai. Voh toh possible nahi hai,” he remarked.

Salim also highlighted the tension between Salman’s admiration for successful, independent women and his expectations post-marriage. “Why should one deprive her? Ki main shaadi karke ghar baitha doonga? Uska vahi hota hai,” he said, questioning the fairness of expecting a career-oriented woman to give up her ambitions for domestic life.

The honesty of Salim Khan’s comments struck a chord with many at the time, and they continue to fuel debate today. While Salman has never publicly confirmed these reasons himself, his father’s insights offered a rare window into the superstar’s mindset.

On the professional front, Salman Khan is currently preparing for his upcoming release Battle Of Galwan, even as conversations about his personal life refuse to fade.
