Salman Khan was spotted casting his vote in Mumbai during the BMC Election 2026, and like most polling-day celeb moments, it was quick, tightly managed, and instantly viral. The actor arrived with heavy security, walked straight into the booth, and kept interactions minimal. But while leaving, Salman briefly held up his inked finger for the cameras, a simple gesture that became the headline visual of the day.
Polling day in Mumbai also saw a steady stream of Bollywood faces stepping out across the city, turning civic duty into a public reminder for fans to participate. Among the early celebrity voters were Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, who were photographed after casting their votes, as well as actor Sanya Malhotra.
Aamir Khan was also spotted voting, with videos of his inked finger doing the rounds online soon after. (Facebook) Ranbir Kapoor was photographed and filmed outside his polling station after voting, adding to the long list of stars who showed up through the day. India Today’s photo coverage also included Vicky Kaushal among the celebrities seen at the booths.
John Abraham turned up to vote as well, and his outing drew attention for a softer reason: he was seen walking with his parents after voting, a moment that quickly got picked up by entertainment pages. Suniel Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Nana Patekar were also photographed participating in the civic polls.
Veteran actor and MP Hema Malini voted early too, and spoke about choosing leaders who can deliver basics that Mumbai residents care about, like clean air and pothole-free roads. Alongside actors, public figures from the film world like lyricist-poet Gulzar and Salman’s father Salim Khan were also reported among those who voted.
